Thank you for joining us for an incredible evening at picturesque Acadia Park. We hope you enjoyed exploring the vibrant makers' market, discovering unique local products, taking in the dynamic multicultural performances, and watching the little ones enjoy the playground and children's activities.

We loved seeing our community come together for a wonderful evening of shopping local, entertainment, and summer fun. Mainstage Performers

Emcee
Laura Eamon

Laura Eamon, originally from Hammonds Plains now proudly living in Sackville, has been performing on several stages for over 20 years. Laura was introduced to Sackville Business Association when interviewing for her first co-op position as an undergraduate student at Saint Mary's University in 2021, and she's always coming back to help bring SBA's incredible projects to life in Sackville. Laura is honoured to emcee this year's Sackville Sunset Market and share the bandstand and Acadia Park with so many talented artists, makers, and Sackville families.

Blessing and Indigenous Drumming
Charlotte Bernard

Charlotte Bernard will do a Blessing and drum an Indigenous song. Bernard is a married Mi’kmaq Matriarch, born in Sipekne'katik, Nova Scotia now living in Kjipuktuk, NS. A nurse by trade, she worked for the Mik’maw Native Friendship Centre for many years in several roles.

DJ Kruks

DJ Kruks is a Halifax-based DJ known for delivering high-energy sets, blending global sounds with a strong focus on House music at events across the region to bring people together. He creates an infectious, upbeat atmosphere for any event. As an active music producer, he will be rolling out his debut original music releases this year.

African Drumming
Halifax Multicultural Drummers (DAM Warriors)

Halifax Multicultural Drummers (DAM Warriors) is a Halifax-based, family-led drumming troupe founded by Olugu Ukpai. It was established to honour the memory of his 16-month-old daughter, Goodness, who tragically passed away from malaria in 2006. The group raises global awareness about the disease and advocates for volunteerism through traditional African drumming.

Scott Henderson, Ashlyne MacRae, and Paul O’Brien

Scott Henderson, Ashlyne MacRae, and Paul O’Brien, come together as a new trad acoustic trio that blends rich Celtic roots with contemporary energy. Paul O’Brien drives the music with rhythmic, percussive guitar and bouzouki accompaniment, creating a powerful backdrop for intricate melodies and dance‑inspired arrangements. Scott Henderson adds the distinctive colours of uilleann and Highland pipes, Scottish smallpipes, whistles, flute, and vocals, while Ashlyne MacRae’s virtuosic fiddle and dynamic step dancing brings both precision and showmanship to the stage. Together they deliver driving tune sets, spellbinding slow airs, lyrical songs and lift‑the-roof finales, offering an intimate yet high‑impact Celtic experience for concerts, festivals, and listening rooms alike.

Flamenco Dancing
María Osende and Emily Taylor Smith

Flamenco is a cultural art form from Andalusia in southern Spain, known for its beautiful guitar melodies, soulful singing, and passionate dance. It is practised and performed worldwide in both traditional and contemporary contexts. Led by internationally renowned Spanish flamenco dancer María Osende, founder and artistic director of Atlantic Flamenco, alongside Nova Scotian flamenca Emily Taylor Smith, this performance presents flamenco rooted in traditional forms. Flamenco includes a wide range of styles, each with its own rhythmic and expressive character, and continues to evolve on stages around the world.
